They did totally understand that you mean 18% of the total and not 18% knocked off??!!!! :rotfl:

What amount was it for? A nice big one??
  • Its our biggest creditor so we are talking £1,000's not £100s knocked off. Yes they know as its a set amount to repay not a %. Can't wait to update total but not until I have the letter in my hand, don't want to jinx it lol.

    That is fantastic.

I'm sure you don't need telling, but when you get the offer through check the wording carefully. Did they mention how they were prepared to mark your credit reference files?

They gave all the correct words on the phone but trust me I'll be checking the letter, might even post it or pm it to get checked. For now I'm jumping up and down with excitement, its over half of DH debt and will leave us with only one DCA to get rid of.

    Who was the debt with?

I am getting the impression that there are some good F&F deals to be had at present. Another thread mentioned BLS were giving good deals on LTSB debts.

Could it be that the credit crunch has affected the market price that bad debts change hands at? Would it be worth having a sticky to compare F&F deals like the credit card board has for unofficial balance transfer offers?
