I've done a search and can not find an answer; My mum recently died and would like to find out if she had a life assurance policy. She was financially astute, but not very paperwork astute.

            Who is administering the estate?
If it is you then ask her bank for a list of direct debits which might indicate a payment to an insurance/assurance company.
Post back if you want more information.0

My wife's mum died in the late 70's she also had life insurance/ assurance.
Apparently there is an organisation who can help you find out if she was insured. Who she was insured with and if a pay out has already happened.0

looking at the bank account for direct debits is usually the easiest way to see what she has got (assuming she never had an adviser who would have a list of policies held).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
