hi, i have just applied for a degree with the Open university, and was wondering, will i be classed as a student, so i am able to get a student discount card,railcard,bank a/c etc etc?

Some of the things that are mentioned are only available if you are a full time student, which you can't be with the OU.0

Think you can get the discount card - not sure about the others but wouldnt think the student accounts would be available0

The student Loans Company deal only with loans (the clue's in the name). Part time students are eligble for a grant to cover their fees and OU students would apply for fthis unding through the OU itself.0 -

you can get an NUS card thats about it really, its very useful though, once youve signed up on your course check out the NUS website and follow the instructions on there (it costs £10 btw)Reclaimed Charges £2433

As said above, you can get the NUS card (£10.00)
Unfortunately no matter how many points you study with the OU at any one time you are still only classed as a part time student, so can't get student bank acc, council tax reductions or railcard....
