Ripoff banks

I see. I hadn't realised that this was a widespread issue with non-HSBC banks. Still, this is a problem with the banks not utilising the system correctly rather than a problem with the system, which clearly works well.YorkshireBoy wrote: »That's my point Aegis (and, I suspect, that of bigbloke45 also). I too can send FP's to lots of other (mainly current) accounts from my FD current account, but to bring money back from the bulk (95%+) of them still takes 3-4 days...3 months after the FP launch date (and a full 9 months after the original planned FP launch date).I don't think they have. Transfers out always took a day longer than 'real' banks. It's just that since they changed the way they operate they now leave the money in the account for a day before sending it. Previously they removed it and then held on to it for 24 hours before sending it.
In short, same delay as before for 'on the spot' requests.
Let's hope it's just a teething problem rather than what the system will actually end up looking like!I am a Chartered Financial Planner

Entirely down to Icesave, I would imagine. HSBC already allows sending of cash via the Faster Payments system, but Icesave presumably doesn't accept them yet.MILLWALLFC wrote: »Anyone know when HSBC will be offering Fasttrack payment to icesave, this takes about 4 days to clear everytime i make a transfer.I am a Chartered Financial Planner

Money is pulled into Icesave by Direct Debit. The transfer is already immediate in so far as the money arrives in your Icesave account on the same day it leaves the linked bank account.

Just started (but didn't complete) a payment request from FD to Halifax and was given the message...Does it work on non working days?
date to leave..........25/08/2008
date to arrive..........25/08/2008
...so since the 25th is a Bank Holiday I'd say yes.
I'm not sure it's the same for SO's though?0 -
Hm maybe. Could you give us an update if it goes through today.
I want to test my Egg Savings --> Lloyds to see if Egg are sending FPS.0 -
The account is empty (other than my £250 overdraft which I don't want to use). That's why I said "but didn't complete". You get the timescale message between 'continue' and 'submit'.Hm maybe. Could you give us an update if it goes through today.
I can tell you now that, whilst Egg can accept FP's, they're not sending them yet.I want to test my Egg Savings --> Lloyds to see if Egg are sending FPS.0 -

I checked my Barclays statement on-line on the 23rd August, and found I had 3 payments debitted from the account on the 26th August, 3 days away, already showing the amount deducted. That is REALLY fast!0
