Keyboard and Speaker Connection - HELP ASAP!!

hi guys

When i connect my new speakers to the PC via the green port on the back of the tower my keyboard doesnt function but when i put the speakers in the red port which the old speakers were in the keyboard works but no sound comes through the speakers including system sounds, how can i get both of them to work?

Yes ive plugged it into the green jack connection and then the keyboard stops working. When its plugged into the red jack connection the keyboard works fine but no sounds emitts from the speakers.The keyboard isnt a USB keyboard but PS2 and is plugged into the correct green slot in the back of the computer....

any ideas?

but when the speakers are plugged into the red jack they work fine (strangley) but then the keyboard stops working?

Nope no errors or uninstalled drivers at all
