Is It A Good Time To Buy?

This sort of thread is doing my head in. There is a never ending stream of idiots posting this sort of question. They don't read, they don't listen, they don't understand.

At first I thought that spreading the HPC message might save one or two from committing financial suicide, but they are beyond any form of reason or intelligence. They ask a question, but have already decided the answer.

In short they are not worth saving, so perhaps encouragement is what they deserve. Go for it big boy, and don't bother posting any more stupid questions. Yes, a one bed dump for 2 bazillion pounds is just what you should go for, after all "renting is dead money".

That seems to be the one expression, endlessly repeated by their inbred forefathers, that these imbeciles are capable of comprehending. Although they don't understand it, it just has a comforting familiar sound.

It says a lot about our chances of surviving in the global age when a large proportion of this country is made up of people who wear their stupidity like a badge of honour.

Rant suspended, but definitely not over.

I can see your point, albeit a bit blunt possibly, and it has occured to me as well that there are a lot of people posting the same question without searching/looking at existing threads.....

Maybe we can have a thread dedicated to the pro/cons of purchasing at this time and just post a link to it when the next person asks?

I'm thinking of changing my signature:

    The slogans I'm looking at:

    Renting is Dead Money.
Get on the Ladder Whatever the Cost.
    Prices only ever go up.
    Stamp out Stamp Duty.

    Any more?
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

I try to wind them up and respond with something along the lines of:

It's always a good time to buy because house prices always go up

This confirms what they believe anyway and at least they go away from the site as happy as Larry if none the wiser ;)

Well, if you love a property and the area and can afford it then I suppose any time is a good time to buy a home.

Not really if it's going to be 10% cheaper in 6 months' time. Not many people can afford to neglect that sort of price difference.

It depends what the time span is really... property does only ever go up in the long term, there is no proof to it doing otherwise.

So if I see an exceptional house in a fantastic position/location and can afford it, I shouldn't buy.

I should let some other sucker buy it and I will end up buying the usual tat when the market starts moving again?

And, unlike Beckham, I take it that you have all got crystal balls.

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

For most people, there is a lot more to consider then just the financial aspect when buying a home. That's just life.

    Correct on all 3 points.

Seriously, your argument is that this one exceptional house is the only one in the world for you? A never to be repeated opportunity?:rotfl:

A lot of the people here come with preconceptions and just want confirmation of what they have already decided to do.

Prices will shoot back up again as soon as the supply of mortgages returns to normal
