  • plus, they say they dont over charge for security...

there basic alarm costs them £157 to purchase, and yet they sell them on for £2499... bit of a steap mark-up id say, no wonder the owner is a multi millionair.

a carbon monoxide detector will set u back £99, when u could buy the same for £10-15 in a supermarket

a fire extinguisher £99, or £15 in argos

for each additional sensor its £199, when they pay just £19

the list goes on and on and on....

seriously, if u like to watch your penny's, go to a smaller local company or get an electrician in to do it for you and buy your own

Ah, the irony of it all.....
  • Thank you all for your useful posts on this company - my mother in law has just had a call from EEC security and once they had established that she lived alone booked an appointment in two days time to do a home inspection and electric check - she was tempted by the free security marker and paper shredder! After checking them out on here when she told us about this, she has now cancelled the appointment.

    The beauty of MSE!

If your mother is concerned about security, advise her to contact her local police station, they normally have a Crime Prevention Officer. They will come out and give her free impartial advice on improving her security.

Most of the best ways to improve the security of your home are simple things that are free or cost a small amount. For instance putting a padlock on your back gate is a great way as it makes it harder to get around the back of the house (A lot of burgalers like to break into houses from the back)
  • I worked for this outfit when they were called Fireguard UK. I was a fitter.

My best advice is do not schedule (or buy) anything over the phone or at the door from anybody...there is no such thing a free! and once they are in, well...

While some of the sales and fitting done while I was with the company were "good" a lot of them weren't. I was only with them a few months as I couldn't cope with the obvious hard sales tactics used that some were using on the elderly and good trusting people.

It's funny I think I had the highest rate of cancellations going, every time I went to some ones house to do a fitting and it was very clear they either didn't want it, didn't need it or just didn't know what they were buying, the home owner would decide to call the bank and cancel the cheque:rotfl:then I would have to call the office and let them know I had done all I could to save the sale but no luck:j
