Powering a Laptop from a car/coach or a universal battery

Hi

I have just bought a laptop secondhand off eBay and am dissapointed that its battery only will last an hour (according to the Windows taskbar) To be fair it said in the auction that it only lasted an hour so I cant fault the seller
Here it is http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6816904168&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:UK:11

So I also bought a Power Inverter see here

What I wanted to know was: I travel on coaches a lot as I travel with the supporters club of my football team to away matches and the main reason I bought the laptop was to relive the boredom on long journeys. Should there be any reason why the driver would object to me plugging the adaptor in his cigarette socket?? As I dont know the ins and outs of coach electronics I cant be sure

Also is there anywhere I can get a cheap universal battery?? eBay sellers are quoting around £90 which seems expensive

Thanks In Advance
