Bought TV stand with bracket - Doesn't fit TV!

Collect the following item yesterday as I won it on ebay however it says upto42"
However it doesn't fit - its miles too small for my 42" plasma, no way it would ever fit.
I have emailed the buyer with no reply yet. What should I do?
Is it my fault that it doesn't fit?

Nope, it clearly says it'll fit 42", when did you email the seller?"Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

As soon as I got back from his and when I realised it didn't fit (45mins).
I also gave him a ring with no answer. I suppose with it being the bank holiday I will have to wait till after this.
So annoying though.
Am I liable to have to drop it back off even after collecting it myself?
More fuel costs theirs.0 -
I have to say I'm no expert on these things but that doesn't look and different from the one I helped my m8 put together and her Philips 42" fits on it fine.
Sorry if this sounds silly but did it come with any instructions?0 -
Looks fairly standard to me, and trying to gauge it's size against those doors I wonder how it wouldn't fit.
What make/model is your TV?
I don't know of any which aren't, but are you sure yours is wall mountable?0 -
Can you mount the screen securely onto the stand. It will overlap the sides but does that matter?
As far as I know there is no reason why the stand needs to be as wide as the screen. Maybe I am wrong.0 -
Basically you have some holes in the tv and literally they are too wide onthe back of the tv to fit on the stand you see!0

You collected it, and inspected it thus you have no right to a refund.
You honestly expect them to come and collect it and refund you??"Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Why not?
Item is not as described.
Plasma/LCD Glass mental stand for up to 42"
So if doesn't fit so surely they are in the wrong?0 -

If it's just the holes that are in the 'wrong' place, you can get a metal adapter plate which screws to the tv holes and the new holes in the plate will/should fit the stand.
You need to measure the distance between the holes on the tv to see if they are standard Vesa sizing first.

The theory is that as you collected and thus had the opportunity to inspect the goods, it's not the sellers problem that it does not fit your tele.
Difficult/unreasonable buyers are a big problem for ebay sellers."Love you Dave Brooker! x"
