    Why not?

    Item is not as described.

Plasma/LCD Glass mental stand for up to 42"

So if doesn't fit so surely they are in the wrong?

Just because it doesn't fit your 42" tv that doesn't mean it wont fit others.

That was up to you to research before you purchased it.

    Item description states:

"Glass and Metal Flat Screen TV Stand. Fits all types of LCD and Plasma TV Screens"

    The big word being ALL.

I have bought a tv stand from currys this weekend for alot more, which has fitted perfectly. Also the sellers has agreed to take the item back for a refund if I get it back to them.

And how is it my fault? If you look at the item description then you would see it says all types of TV as the quote above says.

I have also been told that this TV will fit a maximum 37" TV. So it has to be incorrectly described. Surely.

    oh well sorted now

i dont think its buyer fault...when described the item seller need to test it on all plasma/ tv and confirmed it can fit all the plasma/lcd screen in the market.. Description are important for buyer to decide either to buy/bid or not. In this case it didnt fit at all as per description...

    You are kidding right?

What you are saying is you expect the seller to go around testing every single tv on his stand to see how it fits.

Do you know how many different makes and models of tv there are?

Agreed descriptions are important but for a stand I don't think you can get much clearer then that.

If anything the buyer should of asked and questions that they had before bidding.

Why would I need to ask a question when the item description clearly states it will fit ALL types of TV's upto 42" when it doesn't.

I bought for it to fit my tv, which is a 42" plasma, and doesn't fit.

As a seller you can't sell something saying it can do a certain job when it can't.

It's like me selling a actually TV saying its 42" when its only 37"!!!

tbh the seller should have listed the measurements of the distance between mounting points to be sure

Well the tv market is changing all the time and different companies like to do things different ways which does make it annoying for us buyers as there is no standard.

I guess I can see where your coming from where it says all 42" tvs personally I wouldn't of put the word all.

It never hurts to measure the holes on your tv thlough and ask the seller to see if it will fit as it can save a lot of time in the long run as you have found out.

The only other thing I can think of is that the seller hasn't got all the bits for the stand as I'm pretty sure they come with different adaptors for different tvs so while his obviously fitted on there yours quite clearly doesn't.
