  • SS321 , you are full of good ideas, please keep them coming
Its not how far you fall but how high you bounce back that matters
  • Oh! What a fabulous theme! Can you raid your local charity shop or fabric shop for cheap fabric off cuts/curtains etc in red, black or purple? You can get really cheap poly cotton and pin it to the walls, also look out for sequined fabric and netting – you can twist the netting to get a stronger colour and string it up somewhere. You can get glitter stray from Claires or even Wilkos and spray the fabric as well as the girls! Feather boas can be picked up quite cheaply in some branches of Claires at the moment (in the sale).

You could print out vintage Moulin Rouge posters but huge! If you go to this site: http://www.blockposters.com/ you can use a normal A4 printer to create HUGE posters!

I think the fairy lights are a great idea, you have to include a green fairy in there somewhere, I’m just not sure where! :rotfl:
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you.:p

not got any ideas but please can i come to the party as its my birthday on the 13th sept also :):)
  • as they r 16+ i guess they can handle candles right? Old wine bottles with candles (wax already slightly pre melted around the bottles) on any tables, strategically drape some black or red feather bowas over chairs/coat racks, whatever really.
  • I definitely think dramatically coloured voile panels is the way to go. Lots of maroons, deep purples, blacks etc. I was going to suggest the candles in wine bottles, also long feathers would look very dramatic displayed in old (empty) wine bottles. Also how about creating some faux Absinthe bottle? Just get some nicely shaped bottles (maybe car boot sales/ junk shops) and fill with water and green food dye. If you're feeling creative make some Absinthe labels which have your daughter's name and birth date on them.

Feather boas will of course be mandatory!
