19" TFT monitor

I am after a 19" TFT - Should I be looking at the Ms response rate as a price guide or something else? Is 12Ms ample or should I go lower? Most retail at around £190 which is about what I want to spend.
A bargain is something you don't need at a price you can't resist.

do you want to watch tv on it? do you want to play fast games on it?

if it is merely for normal pc use of the internet, the odd game ( that doesnt require a super duper gfx card) i would say 12ms is fine.

obviously the lower you go the better it will be on your eyes when playing fast moving games as the screen refreshes faster.

I wouldn't totally rely on manufacturers spec's as they can often be misleading. The best way to find a decent tft is to read trusted reviews. Site such as https://www.anantech.com, https://www.tftcentral.co.uk, https://www.tomshardware.com and https://www.pcpro.co.uk are a good starting point.

The larger the tft the less impressive the response time will be, as a general rule of thumb. For a 19" tft I'd look for something with DVI output, and a response time of around 16-20ms. Contrast ratio and brightness are two other things to consider.

The Dell 1905FP is one of the better 19" tft's around but will be out of your price range. For £190 you're looking at the budget end of the 19" range, you may want to consider a 17" tft (which uses the same native 1280x1024 resolution as a 19") as you'll be more likely to get something of much better quality.
