Mouse Sensitivity?

Options
Hi everyone, Ive just got a new laptop and when I type (I'm a fast typer) the cursor where I am typing jumps around all over the place and I end up typing words in other words if you seen what i mean. It seems to jump to where the 'I' thing is. Can I change this at all? Thanks Len

The cursor moves to the text select thingy. The pointer disappears when I type and it turns into a text select thingy and thats where they typing jumps to.

Sounds as though you are accidently brushing the touchpad whilst typing.

If this is so, you could change the sensitivity of the touchpad so a brief swipe with your wrist doesn't move the pointer...

or you could attach a mouse and disable the touchpad.

Just plug a mouse in and go into Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Mouse

You should see an option to disable the touchpad when a mouse is connected.

It should be in the same place in Control Panel, normally a slider for the sensitivity with a test box next to it.

If I was on a Laptop I would grab a screenshot of it.

You may have a little Icon next to the clock which you can use to access the same function (normally a little box with a green splodge appearing when you touch the touchpad)

    edit:

something like this, drag towards Heavy Touch
