Anyone know the typical credit limits for these BT cards?

Hi All,

Just been reviewing Martin's most recent Balance Transfer article.
Does anyone know what sort of credit limits I'm likely to get if I applied for NatWest/RBS or Lloyds TSB Platinum?
I need to move approx. £7000 into a 0% account from existing 0% purchases C Card.

I'd say Lloyds would give a good credit limit, whilst RBS won't. Also Lloyds will more readily match a higher credit limit card or shift credit limit from other LTSB cards you might have whilst RBS don't seem to want to do this. No transfers fees on Lloyds. Interest free purchases with RBS but not with Lloyds

LloydsTSB also very good for repeat deals once card is paid off at the moment..

There's no such thing as a typical credit limit, as it's dependant on so many variables unique to each individual applicant.

However, on the two specific cards that you mention, I'd say you have a better chance of a high limit with LloydsTSB than with Nat West - based on MSE members' posts on these boards.

This is what I wanted to hear! Is it just "at the moment" smartsaver, or has it always been the case with LloydsTSB?
