Bought my "Dream" bed, need new quilts, advice?

Options
Bought a fab Superking size bed today in Dreams, £1,499, got £99 off.

http://www.dreams.co.uk/en-gb/ProductDetails/?cid=MEMORYFOAM-DIVAN&pid=371-00016&language=en-GB

Matching Kaymed pillow £50 free
Premier mattress protector £39 free
Delivery £32 free
10 year extended warranty £35 free

Had to haggle hard:D

Also bought new Egyptian cotton sheets
2 x duvet covers £39 each so £78
2 x fitted sheets £25 each so £50
2 x pairs of pillowcases £9 each pack so £18

Total £146
20% off £30
So £116

So SAVED £235:beer:

So bed was £1,400 with ALL the little extras & the sheets were £116 after the discount.

I've already bought a superking 1 tog synthetic duvet (I've only ever seen that 1 tog one so had to have synthetic). Great for hot summer nights (we did have one or two:rolleyes:

I've always had feather or down duvets. Never liked synthetic really.
I've got a all seasons one at the mo, 9.5 I use in winter & the 4.5 in spring & autume.

Did I read once about wool filled duvets?

Is my only choice polyester or feather/down?

Is there anything else?

I need to buy a superking size one.

Thank you.

I got my own superking bed last year from a local furniture store. Bedding came from 'linenslimited' on ebay, 2 superking sheets, mattress protector and kingsized duvet covers came to about £45. Kingsized 9.5 tog synthetic duvets £5 from Netto. I bought two because it'd cost more than £5 to launder the quilt, not very green I know but a great MSE tip. Kingsized quilts fit superking beds fine and theres always plenty to go around for me and OH.
The mattresses were £99 (again local store) and its matresses as 2 singles fit perfectly into a superking frame. My only other addition was a heavy felt blanket under the quilted matress protector which effectively removes the gap and pulls them together.

I do want to buy a new all seasons quilt in superking or two seperate quilts one about 9 tog & one about 4.5 tog.

I have already spent £116 on bed linen, plus the cost of the 1 tog quilt I have bought.

Anyway my king size bedding needs to go with the bed (to my DD) as her double stuff would be too small.

Thank you, but I do have to buy superking quilts.

Have you ever been to a new car showroom and asked the price of a car? They then give you a price, but then quickly add "but that's before discounts". In other words they already know that they are going to knock a huge amount off, but they will let you think you are twisting their arm.

As I've told you before Mrs E, in these big chains they are trained to sell. They will get a sale with low commision rather than not get one at all. So at £1400 you didn't get a bargain at all. You were just ripped off a little less.

    Thanks:D

I've always had feather & down.

I was thinking of wool (is it merrino?) or even silk, but probably wool.

Thank you Tim, but I'm very happy with my purchase & I know we've got THE bed for us, (I've only been looking since March!) & I'm happy to have saved £235 as well.
