Without going into too much detail, our forthcoming bankruptcy has a lot to do with a certain person-who we have helped and IT was going to fund the bankruptcy payments.
At this moment in time IT hasn't got the funds and our court date is Tuesday.
Can anyone advise the grounds for which a bankruptcy may be postponed?
I have to stress there is nothing dodgy about this-just a person who should know a lot, lot better.
With thanks

I don't think there is a problem postponing court dates as far as I am aware. When I called up to make my booking the clerk said they would put me in the diary but that I could call and rearrange if there was a problem. I would just call them on Tuesday (if they are open, if not Wednesday) and rearrange for another time, although that depends on the waiting times of your local court.

I just rang up and rearranged mine the day before my hearing and got another date. I didn't need to tell them why, just that I would like to change my date.Namaste DeeDee x0

You can ask for and maybe get an adjournment but you have to give a good reason like we are going to come up with the funds like such a date this month.. Good luck0

I might be being a bit dim, which is entirely possible, but it's not really an adjournment is it? You choose when it is you make yourself bankrupt so surely you wouldn't need to go into a lot of detail?

We are still hoping IT will come up with the funds-we sincerely hope so. We are building ourselves up for Tuesday and ultimately just want it over with.

as its YOUR requested action (not a police/CPS case, etc) you neednt even turn up!
cancel the dsate till u have the funds.0 -
If you are going BR because of IT and IT still cannot even help with fees, is it wise to even involve IT in your life any longer??
And phone up the court on Monday and cancel if you cannot get the fees together. Is there any chance you can fund it on a credit card/overdraft? ORs tend to turn a blind eye to the fee funding.0
