  • Day 2 in Wales

Weathers been dry today and the sun even peeked out later on.

Went to the Centre of Alternative Technology, wow what a wonderful place, devoted to alternative forms of sustainable living.
It really is a place if your a die hard DFW`er would love, what really hit home was the amount of waste we townies produce and waste, really opened my eyes and Ive come away with lots of ideas for the future.
Ive always wanted to be self sufficent and have chickens and an allotment, one of those ideas you daydream about but never quite do anything about.

There are many places to let down here, went into Aberystwyth this morning and looked in estate agents windows, what you can get for £75K down here compared to the Midlands is amazing.Maybe after myself and OH are discharged from BR and hes finished paying off the inevitable IPO we can look at maybe moving, might even have to leave it till retirement age (not that far off now:eek:     ).

I was naughty and bought a book on frugal lifestyle tips:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: , yes I know not very money saving but ecologically sound was made from recycled paper etc :D:D .
Had a fantastic saladfor 80p a portion in the centres Vegetarian Restraunt tasted so fresh and lovley.

Best part of the day was..I was sitting thinking of my sister and thinking she would have loved it there when a robin came and sat on top of the table, so so close, just almost within fingertips reach and we just looked at each other, me so big , it so small, complete silence in amongst the trees, it must have stayed there for about 10 mins hopping backwards and forwards, then it tweeted and flew off into the trees, was a truley magic few minutes.Malc caught it on his phone video thingey so I have it to look at in the future.
Right Im off to dream about building my strawbale dream home with sheeps wool insulation and recycled rooftiles, with my self composting toilet and solar panels and wind turbine   not many places/things have made an impact on me latley but today was truley splendid.

Night all from dry but windy Wales

  • Day3/4 in Wales

Quiet day today sat looking out at the sea for most of it contemplating life.
Cant sleep tonight either its 1.28 am and Oh is sleeping the sleep of the tired and happy and Im sitting here feeling , well nowt really:confused::confused: so am mooching round the forums and trying to drum up the enthusiasm to be :D:D instead of   at the mess Ive made of my finances and what I could be doing:rolleyes:    , so a swift kick up the backend and get back on track in the morning is the plan.

Its lovley here, have the caravan door open and can hear the whoosh of the sea and theres a soft light playing on the hills, jeez Im a miserable sod ignore me :rotfl: :rotfl:

Looking back at all the things I had when I had money etc I never foresaw my future as I am today, but you know despite the bad down days give me now instead of then, its ok flashing credit cards and having nice things but being unhappy and frustrated with life so I had better get my jolly head on and get myself to bed or go for a walk and give myself a talking to :rotfl: :rotfl: .

Think we shall go to the Butterfly Farm in the morning, some fluttery exotic coloured things might just cheer me up.

    Night everyone

Morn anne:hello: It is perfectly natural to reflect back on life as it was. We are all full of regrets. I think if i was sat where you are now i too would be reflecting, but not just my finances;) .

Why is it that the silence of the night, the dark of the evening and sound of the waves take us back:confused: to places that are normally out of bounds in our normal day to day lives?

Enjoy that butterfly farm today and relate to their restricted freedom,it is a lot like bc:o D
