Oooo. Thats a new one. Aren't they naughty??? Lying toerags. Let them complain - it won't get far.
What really makes me unhappy though is that if they are spouting this rubbish to people like us and Annes OH - who all know better - what on earth are they spouting to the masses who are scared witless??
 I'm cross now.... :mad:0

Ive got OHs BR forms and have bought a big loud whistle to blow down the phone at em~~practiced it on OH at work he said it nearly blew his ear off:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: that`ll teach em, and your right Skylight there getting beyond a joke now.
I remember how bad I felt before found MSE & associated forums, and MBNA are up there with the worst scaremongering towrags, well they can phone, threaten, turn up at the door once that judge bangs that stamp on the BR petition they can go and get lost.
Have had a change of tune from Barclaycard there doing the now now Mal were trying to help you here, do they never give in , time to put them out of there misery and its a very MSE way of saving them money on there phone bills~go BR~~are`nt I kind .

Good luck, and I have to say I have found this interesting to read, as my IVA has just failed, an IVA I think I should never have gone into, I have no house or assets. Looking at the money they IVA people have taken makes it a mockery as to what the creditors have gotten from me!
From my own experience I would advise BR now and not like me go into an IVA and then it fail, mine due to ill health and not being able to make the repayments. Some Days are Diamonds Some Days are Stones,Sometimes the hard times won't leave meBSC 162:beer:Banktupt 22 Oct 2008 at 10am!0

            Hi Anne,
The thing I always try to point out to people is that a significant proportion of IVAs fail in the first 12-18mths, with many others failing further down the line. At whatever point they fail, that money has been in effect lost - yes the creditors have got it, but the failure of the IVA usually means the only other option is going BR. A lot of people go for an IVA partly because of being ill-advised on the subject but also because of the perceived stigma of going BR. They agree to sums they think they can manage at the time, but when their circumstances change they find out just how inflexible an IVA can be. It's only at that point that they realised the time they spent paying the IVA could have been spent dealing with going BR, & often people could have been discharged from BR in the time it's taken the IVA to fail.
I'm glad your OH is looking more seriously at going BR. Tell him not to pay attention to his employers - he's booked his holiday, & unless they've got very good reasons, they can't cancel it just like that. A subtle hint that he'd take it up with HR or the union would put that nonsense to bed - it's just a manager trying to flex his muscles. It's the same with creditors - one of them who'd been measuring up my innards for garters had the brass neck to tell me we could have come to an arrangement if they'd known how bad things were. They did know - they'd known for months & had ignored me, just repeating their mantra about needing a certain amount by a certain date & nothing less would do. Creditors will sometimes try to persuade you out of going BR, but they're not trying to do you a favour - they know full well that if someone goes BR with no assets, they'll get very little of the debt back through an IPA, & nothing if an IPA isn't put in place. It's therefore in their interests to get your agreement to lower monthly payments for a temporary period of 3-6 months. Some of them will even try to get you to take out a loan with them to cover the old debts & spread the repayments. Don't be fooled - only you can know what's best for you, & once you've made your mind up it's best to be single-minded about it. As for your phone, if you haven't got caller ID on your phone get it put on & leave the phone on the answering machine. When the phone rings, wait until you hear the voice before deciding to take the call - if it's one you want to take you can intercept the call, or you can let the machine take the message if you don't want to speak to them & go into another room so you can't hear what's being said. Once the message has been left, don't listen to it, just delete it straight away - you know what it's going to say, so there's no point listening to it & upsetting yourselves.
Have a great holiday, & don't forget to post here if you have any problems with the forms. BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement." BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

            Hello WDIAG
Thanks for your post and I hope your keeping well.
Im all packed and ready to go,most important bit my laptop and dongle :rotfl: :rotfl: cant do without my daily fix of MSE
When we get back its straight down to local court and book his BR date, we are cashing in his sharesave scheme thingeys to pay for his fees and then its full steam ahead.
Might be asking some questions through the week re SOA and I&E, am still a bit worried what were going to do about losing the car, but Ive got the doctors and the hospital all writing a letter saying that he cant walk that far and am doing a cost comparison re public transport versus car costs...its far cheaper to run his car than use public transport plus if he cant get in to work as some of his hours are outside public transport timetables I think we might have a fighting chance. Its a simplistic equation no car=no job=no wages=no IPA sounds easy looking at it in that context but it probably wont read that easy to the OR:rolleyes:  never mind fingers crossed.
The weathers awful here, it has rained everyday this week, I was extremely rude to the MBNA chap on the phone I refused to give him any details and told him to naff orf,9 phone messages on the answerphone, the whistle works, they soon put the phone down.
Ok hope you all have a MSE inspired weekend, Im off to pack my umbrella and wellies:p byeeee byeeee
