Rechargeable repairs advice needed?

Ive recently recieved a letter from my old landlord asking for £280 repairs.
The letter is dated 18-07-08, i left the property 05-01-2007.

Obviously im a bit miffed to be recieving this now so long after i vacated the property especially as i know they had another tenant within a couple of weeks.

The property was with Home in scotland housing association,i have recieved a payment card but no specific details of how the charge is broken down.I feel as i left the property so long ago this is not justified and wish to know what i can do to dispute this..Thanks in advance for any help.

The letter also states that they are threatening legal action and debt recovery.

Send it back (even if you already opened it) marked "Gone away - not at this address".

They are being opportunists sending something this late, don't even respond to it.

The landlord has no leg to stand on.

In fact, it's probably not even from the landlord.

I'de pass it to your local police as it's probably some fraud.
Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.
