You know some people make me laugh, £10 for an holiday and people moan, do they not realise people are paying about £350 for the same holiday for the next few weeks, so what if there are mushrooms in the room it just means they have only got to buy bacon and eggs for their breakfast if they pick their ownmushrooms. Well done and thanx for posting this OP for some people this will be their only break of the year. Ive been on a freebie this year to prestatyn and ok it wasnt the cleanest but for gods sake it was free and a welcome change. Please ignore negative remarks and just go for it

It would trigger my DS's asthma as it's an indication of damp so I am grateful to the people who have mentioned it. :)

I know what you are saying but this was our only holiday, and for my 4 year old to say she wanted to come home well what can I say. the windows had maskin tape holding them together, and the neighbours were drunk and rowdy at 2am everynight, so we had enough as we needed sleep, I came back with a bad back from the bed settee and bags under my eyes not my kind of holiday
  • I was thinking of booking for my teenage daughter!!

I think it probably appeals to their age!!

We went once to Butlins and it was almost impossible to get a table and when we did it was dripping and full of old wrappers - the glasses had been removed tho but no thought to cleaning the table!!

    Very dirty I thought!!

Wouldnt go again even for free!! You still have to pay over the top prices for everything on site!!!
  • Have booked for me and my daughter at Hemsby for 22nd Sepember.

    Can I just say........

If you are not happy for your chalet(a genuine problem such as damp or dirty chalet) then go to reception and ask if they have a different chalet available and explain the problem being firm but polite.

If you have a problem with noisy neighbours then have a word with the guards at the gate! They patrol at night and will make a point of checking and hopefully asking them to keep the noise down.(Also bear in mind that some noise is reasonable, they are there to enjoy themselves and who hasn't gone on holiday and got merry???)

    Most of all enjoy yourselves!

  • Thanks for this nnik!!

Just booked to go to Southport on 22nd Sept, only cost £40 to upgrade to Classic chalet & we'll get £20 back in Pontins pounds - bargain!!

For those who are putting a downer on this find, ok - the chalets are nowhere near 5 star, but if you get a dirty one, simply complain to reception who will move you straight away as they did with us.

I certainly wouldn't let that one blip put us off going there again though - my son loves it there & I think it's great entertainment for all the family at a fab price.

A great find in my opinion OP!!!
  • We went to Pontins prestatyn on a freebie earlier in the year. We where in the classic accomodation and my sister in law was budget, but the only difference in our chalets was the bedding.

Our room was very basic but I have to say it was very clean. The sofa bed was quite hard so we got in with the kids and used our chalet as a base and nothing more. We have taken our kids away to numerous places and they enjoyed this holiday so much more than anywhere else they have ever been because the entertainment was fantastic. My huband and I really enjoyed ourselved, more than we have in a long time. We have booked to go again and when we told the kids they where ecstatic. I will be taking my own bedding with me as we are in budget this time, and if thr room is grubby I will ask to move, but we will be using as nothing more than a place to keep our bags and we are really looking forward to it.:T:T:T
