Is it normal to hear a beep when I plug or unplug the laptop charger?

Having no experience of laptops I was wondering is it normal to hear a beep when I plug or unplug the charger? Should probably say it's a Fujitsu Siemens.

I believe that is correct - certainly my Dell does (if I recall!).

Yes i have one. I think the idea is that if you knock the charger lead out then you know about it.0
