Hi,

Is anyone with Natwets e-savings and can they tell me about their experiences, by providing me with some feedback about the system

How much do you have saved up online, do you trust the system, has there ever been any problems in the past with accessing the money etc etc

hi, i have an esave account had had no problems with it at all.

easily be monitored online. transfers the same day if you have a normal nat west account.

no limit with nat west for withdrawals over the counter.

so all though not the best interest rate the account itself is ok
  • I've had a NatWest eSavings a/c for many many years (since long before I discovered this website) and have never had any problem whatsoever. It's main use (for me) is as an overnight cash sweep for anything that would otherwise be lying in a NatWest current a/c paying 0.1% interest. All transfers between eSavings and current a/cs are instantaneous for immediate value - so if I have a large cheque/direct debit/standing order going through I don't have to move the money back to the current a/c until the day the debit hits.

It's rate (4.2%) isn't that great - but money I don't need this month is already tucked away somewhere else at something over 5%.

Having said all that, I don't see any point in having this a/c unless one also has and actively uses a NatWest current a/c - which I still do. If you use A&L or Intelligent Finance for your current a/c then you could use their equivalents to eSavings to much the same effect.

Had and used it for years - never had a problem.
As said main advantage is that it is instantaneous. No good if you don't use a natwest current account.
It saves the few days of money in limbo with external accounts so will work out a to be a best rate for short term hpldings from the current account.
So if you have a natwest current account then it's a necessity - if not then there's probably no point.

i also have an e-savings account with Natwest and similar to the comments above, find it very convenient for switching money about. I tend to move my salary into it when I'm paid and put the money back into my current account as I need it. I do it more for my budgeting purposes than the extra interest, but that's nice too.
I think there are better savings accounts for interest but I find the convenience invaluable.
