I have to say the experiences some people have been receiving from some SA's are awful. I used to work for Boots as an SA (must be 20 years ago now - god I sound old!) and it was actually quite hard to get a job there - manners, acknowledging the customer and customer service was paramount. At the slightest query from a customer, a manager would rush over and apologise, refund etc, etc.

Having served in Boots under these rules myself - bad customer service is one of my biggest pet hates now. You would think nowadays as the receipts have a name on and the current surveys carried out, SA's would be trying to keep their jobs.

I would say if you are hiding a glitch and they say no, accept it. If you are doing "nothing wrong", ie using one of THEIR vouchers - DO NOT accept attitude or bad service. They are PAID to provide customer service. PLEASE do not be embarressed. If you feel they were rude, stand in your place and ask to speak to a manager/supervisor - believe me, it is the SA's who should be embarressed, and more people should be pointing this out.

At the very least, at the end of the transaction, perhaps confirm their name "Ok, you are Sandra. Thank you". and walk away. Even if you do nothing, this gets them thinking "oh god - what do they want my name for?".

I am not a constant moaner and have commented many times on excellent service - but remember their job is "SALES ASSISTANT" - they are not selling if they are chasing customers away and we should remind them of that.

    Rant over. Sorry.

:T :T Oh how I wholeheartedly agree with this..
Having worked in retail myself (would never go back now) I always am astounded by the lack of customer service dished out in some well known stores. Just the other day in a well known DIY store (the one with 2 letters and a & in their name!;) ) was "served" by a young "youth" (best way to describe him) who scanned everything in the trolley and just looked at me ...never saying how much the total was!!!!!!!!!! I looked on the till and said "Oh thats £000 please" to which he still didnt speak, I gave my card which he stuck in the machine and turned it so I could put in my number "pop in your pin number PLEASE" i said to myself VERY LOUDLY! he still never flinched, and put my receipt on the counter and left the card in the machine and still said nothing! gobmacked....

I remember when customer service meant service (now I sound old too!!!) I said very loudly on the way out, "thank you please call again... " and looking straight at him said "without customers like us you wouldnt have a job, manners cost nothing" it really gets my goat  sorry *gets off soap box*
    rant over!

Forgot to say earlier that Tunbridge Wells had Lynx sets also some reduced Damask Rose and Lavender items. Last No7 gwp palette thingy on sale at £9.50. None of the old pink boxes though. Think TS still at full price on 2 for £7, but no long hair serum - BOO HOO!
RIP Marmaduke 04.02.11, MIsty 09.06.12 and Rufus 19.7.24 very, very sadly missed xxx

When you buy a MF mascara (think cheapest one is £8.99) you get a free eyeliner. You can then use your £2 off coupon which will take it down to £6.99, thats how it worked for me anyway, I love the mf mascara and eyeliner too.

BBB the poster got it wrong hun it was not half price just bogof they have posted in the thread their mistake hun.

If you are buying glossy locks/eye & lip shimmer then the glitch would work this way:

    Normal Price:
2 x glossy locks £10.50 but bogof so you pay £5.75
2 x eye & lip shimmer £10.50 but bogof so you pay £5.75
Gwp free as till see's over £20.

Total to pay £11.50, now if you are just using a pinky you will have to pay £6.50, if you are using pinky and no7 till spit then you pay £1.50

Half price: same as above except 4 glossy locks and 4 eye & lip shimmers.

    hth x
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Max factor masterpiece mascara starts at £8.99 and you get free £6.99 eyeliner and may be able to sneak an old gwp too...so could be:

    MF Mascara £8.99
    MF Eyeliner £0.00
    MF Old gwp
    -£2.00 PC
£6.99 ...but £4.99 if you have 2 different codes on 2 different MF PC vouchers :)
  • MF has 500 extra points wys £15....would the free eyeliner count towards the spend to get the extra points?
Will not spend more money:naughty:, but will spend more time looking for that great bargain!
