CCJs - How to get rid of and what will they affect?

My girlfriend got in to a bit a debt which as it turned out wasn't as bad as she thought it was. She was simply shying away from a problem she couldn't face. Anyway, she ended up with a CCJ which as of today has been paid off. Finally she is debt free. However, how will this CCJ affect future loan/mortgage/credit card/mobile phone applications? Is there anyway to rid them off her 'record'?
Thanks in advance guys.

If the CCJ was paid in full within in 28 days of the order then it will not be registered
If it was settled in full after this, or over a longer term then it will stay on your file for 6 years from the date of order.
There are some specific instances where a judgement can be set aside, but you would need to go back to court and demonstrate a valid reason why it should be set aside, in this case you have admitted the debt, and have in fact paid it so you would have little recourse to ask for it to be set aside.
It will however now be marked as “satisfied” on the credit file, this is slightly less negative than an unsatisfied CCJ, however you will still find it exceptionally hard to obtain any form of main stream lending for up to 6 years from the order date:rolleyes: It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:0 -
Thanks for the reply. The CCJ was paid over a few months so no such luck with the 28 day thing. Well with a bit of luck she won't be needing to apply for any credit cards again but a mortgage is the big worry.0

No need to panic my friends. The fact that the ccj has been satified. Their is quite large market of providers that will surely give you a home loan possible slightly higher about a 1 % than the bank of england rate. ( If you go for a fixed rate). I believe their is larger population of people with that not perfect credii. Average national credit score is about 375.I owe £3233 @ 0%0
