Thoughts on this sofa deal...

We've been looking for some new sofas for a while and have looked at a wide range of shops. We wandered into Land of Leather the other day and ignoring the deal (because we hadn't noticed it when we tried it out) we liked the look and feel of this one: http://www.landofleather.co.uk/acatalog/Suite_Range_New______The_Caprice_Special_Offer_178.html
We were looking for a 2 and a 3 seater in this kind of colour and the price is much lower than we expected and we do actually need a garden set too and they also had this in the shop and it looked quite good. The thing is the price does seem really cheap - are the sofas going to fall apart and look really shabby within weeks? We do want something that is good quality and will last.
Any thoughts or experiences of Land of Leather?

  • Land of Leather have a really bad reputation. Their customer service generally stinks. Check out the watchdog site for info. Personally I would give them a body swerve, but hey ho life is one big risk, anyway.

Can't comment on the quality of their wares though.

We paid £699 for our cream leather suite ( 3 & 2 ) 4 1/2 years ago from Reids- Colour is a bit of a mistake with two young boys, but I love it and there is loads of life left in it yet. Our sofas from there cost nearly £3000 and we went off them within about 4 years so went for the cheaper option this time - Well worth it!

havent had any experience of land of leather but personally i would never buy a sofa with fibre filled cushions (the bit you sit on cushion) as they tend to loose there shape. Where possible choose foam cushions as they last longer.
  • We had to buy a new sofa recently, didn't think I could afford leather but got a lovely 3 seater from Ikea in chocolate (have 3 small kids) for £270 and it's lovely. I know it's not leather all over but the cushions are, and who cares anyway!!
