Ikea store card

Hi everyone
Can anyone say for sure whether it's possible to transfer a balance from an Ikea store card?
I have a balance on my Ikea card which I'd like to transfer over to my Capital One which is 0%. However, I want to be sure it's possible to do it before I make the request as I don't want to find out further down the line that Ikea don't allow this by which time I may have missed the payment due date thus incurring interest.
I ask this question having just read on here that you can't balance transfer from an Argos card so now I'm wondering whether Ikea is the same.
Thanks

I'm not aware of any cards that do not allow the balance to be transferred. In fact, they don't play a part in the operation. i.e. if you get a second card, then you ask the issuer of the second card to pay money into your existing card account, so the money flows from the new card to the old card. The old card company just receives the money into your account - they don't actually do anything. Where is the post saying that Argos prevent it ?
However, it is good practice to make the minimum payment on your existing card even if you are in the process of requesting that the balance be transferred. This means that you do not run the risk of missing a monthly payment.

Thanks Canny_mal
It appears that the issue with the Argos card is that it does not have a standard account number format of 16 digits like credit cards and many store cards do. Therefore, there are problems doing a BT.
I don't know about the IKEA card. Looking at the IKEA website, it would appear that the cards have a standard 16 digit number. Why don't you ring up CapitalOne and ask them if they can BT from your IKEA card. Give them the number and see what they say. IME card issuers can identify the card from the number you give them, so they may say "you have an IKEA card. that will be fine" or they may say "sorry our systems don't recognise that card number".
As I said, why not try it, but in the meantime pay your minimum monthly payment the normal way.

From experience, most vredit card companies wont balance transfer store cards, my credit card refused on both argos and littlewoods store cards.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0
