credit report query

I have obtained my credit report from both experian and equifax together with their own scores.

The equifax was in the good category and experian in the poor category.....the only differences between the two were:


1. experian had more recent searches (mainly non pure credit accounts like mobile phone, bt phone line etc, but 3 in six months)

2. experian does no have me down on the elelctoral roll - but experian does and they are both exactly the same address! How do I get experian to acknowledge I am and have been on the electoral roll for 2 years.

3. Neither have all my current credit accounts, both only have credit cards and no loans? (hsbc and citi)

4. I have a CIFA entry on my experian report in someone else's name for a current account at Lloyds - what does this mean? It was very recently??

My experian score back in April was in the good category so not sure why it is now so bad?

You need to get the Experian updated on the electoral register as a priority if you are wanting to apply for credit.

3. Neither have all my current credit accounts, both only have credit cards and no loans? (hsbc and citi) Current accounts often do not show - regarding the loan, ask the loan companies if they register details with either agency

4. I have a CIFA entry on my experian report in someone else's name for a current account at Lloyds - what does this mean? It was very recently?? Nothing - only accounts in your name are taken into account

You need to look into the cifas marker on your credit file.

The marker alerts lenders to a possible fraudulent transaction and future lenders must check to see that it does not relate to you.

You say it is in another name so it does not look like identity theft - maybe one of your addresses has been used for an attempted fraud?

It may be worth querying this with Experian?
