Here are a couple of things you should be aware of gained from experience!!
Soft Furnishings/Curtains
Make sure you are paying for only the fabric that will be needed. If you are using a professional company they should not need to over estimate the fabric needed. Request any surplus to be returned to you. Some firms over estimate and use the surplus to make cushions, bolsters to sell on to other customers, from the fabric you have paid for!!
Roofing Work
It has been known for some Companies to claim to have rebuilt a Chimney when they have wrapped brick effect wallpaper around a chimney!!!
