Suggestions for a hifi "black colour" seperate unit to do recordable cds

Options
Hi folks,

I am in the middle of a house move at present and I am having a big sort out at the same time!!! I have so far managed to archive 300+ DVDs out of the original cases into big wallets and I am intending to do the same for my audiobooks that I still have in very "chunky" boxes which are still on cassette tape. I am wondering if there are any cheap black coloured CDR hifi seperate type units available that would fit nicely into my yamaha hifi stack (black units). Looked at richer sounds and nothing there and also nothing on the yamaha website as all the units look silver to me.

Also any unit especially useful at doing audio tape to cd automatically would be a huge assett.

Thanks

Jools

Wouldn't it be easier to just use your PC?

Trouble is I have no recording software on my PC. Windows recorder only does 1min or something like that. Just looking for something easy to use.

I'd recommend you give Audacity a try too:

Sony, TEAC and other good hi-fi brands all used to make these devices, and probably still do.

The folks at www.avforums.com will know the details, I've certainly seen them in brochures.

However doing it on a computer will give much more flexibility for editing and so on.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
A lot of standalone CD recorders will only allow you to use CDR-Audio blank CDRs. These are more expensive than regular CDRs as they include a few pence each for BPI licencing.
