Replacement radiator size.

Existing hall radiator is leaking very slightly and needs replacing.
Approximately what size of modern higher efficiency rad. will be needed? Existing is probably about 20 yrs old, 1500mm x 700mm double panel.
Bearing in mind that rads. now have a higher output for an equivalent size then the replacement can possibly be much smaller.
Need to maintain 18-20 degrees C in hall where room thermostat is also fitted.
Any help appreciated. Fortunately I am able to do the job myself. Just don't want to buy too big or too small a rad. which would mean setting room stat. to compensate.
