We have a new build and all has been well for the last 10 months since we moved in..have noticed an odd smell, the only thing i can describe it close to is a gas type smell but we have completely ruled that out so i have:
Taken the u-bend off the sink and flushed through, was completely clean and fine
Taken the newly sealed bath panel off and checked bath pipes..again all fine
Tonight i have come in and gone up and can smell it again only comes now and then, i have decided it is coming from the toilet at the back even though we were sure it wasn't the loo i think it now is!
SO what can i do..any way of putting anything down to try and unblock it if it is, we have no leaks or apparant blockages so i am stuck..there is only 1 small pipe and i am not sure i would acheive anything from undoing it..
We are pretty skint at the mo due to upcoming wedding so anything but a plumber at the mo would be fab!
help please! Thanks

The smell shouldn't be coming from the toilet itself if its fitted correctly - that is the purpose of the u-bend, to stop the smells coming back up the pipe. Although I think you may need to also have a properly vented waste pipe as well to stop air gaps. A quick google search brings up this site which may help...
