Expedia "charging" accounts

Myself and my partner were searching for a flight for her to go back to Melbourne via Orlando and decided to book through Expedia.

We tried a few times on my credit card but it kept coming back with an error about the first flight. I thought it may be a problem as I wasn't on the itinerary. So we tried again a few times on my partners debit card and kept getting the same error so tried different outward flights.

We struggled to book so phoned expedia to book, they again tried and failed and stated it was because they hadn't updated their site and the flights were fully booked.

I went to opodo and booked the flights with no problems at the same price so not sure why expedia were saying they were fully booked, anyway thats not the reason for the post.

Expedia have charged my credit card with 2 £1 charges and a £20 charge and they have charged my partners account with numerous £1 charges and a £20 charge. None of the charges have cleared and my CC company told me that they tend to do this to check that your account is active.

I'm not bothered about mine as my credit card has no balance at the moment (I'll be bothered if they clear) but my main concern is my partners account. She doesn't have a great deal of money in her account and I transferred the money into her account.

Basically there would have been enough money to pay for the flights but her available balance states she can't withdraw cash as all the funds are taken up by the opodo transaction and the expedia ones.

As the expedia ones were first I assume they get priority and if there aren't enough available funds after the expedia transactions to pay the opodo one, will that mean that the flights are cancelled??

I hope that makes sense, sorry for the length of post but hoping someone can help me out
