Managing agents charging for information?

Hi all,
Just wondering if it's usual for managing agents to charge for information relating to a sale of a flat. My buyers solicitors have raised several enquiries that they want the managing agents to answer but I have to pay them £141 first.
The buyers solicitor has copies of the lease and the previous service charge bills for the last 3 years.

Yes, sorry , it is standard. Fees vary from £40 (some local authorities) to nearly £300 (rip off people) depending on the managing agent.
If he knew you were selling a flat/maisonette then your solcitor should have warned you there would be such a fee, although he could only have given you a reasonable guess as to the amount.RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0 -
fees may be negotiable, though is it worth trying a freedom of information request (£10 max?)..Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
