Chevrolet Matiz - opinions please
Options
Hello, I've been offered a good deal on an 06 Matiz (1 litre) around about 3k for just over 5k miles. I know it's really good offer and when looking around at cars recently, they all seem so expensive for small cars! Don't know what to do for the best
I'm worried about how the Matiz will fair on the motorway as I need it to make some long runs probably 1 - 2 times a month (500 miles round trip each time!) I hear it's a bit unsteady with side winds etc so I'm really not sure.
Should I wait for another car/stretch myself over 3k budget? Or should I put up with the rough ride on the motorway for the price? Hmmm, advice and comments are much welcomed

My sister got one as a hire car after a breakdown. She said it was awful on the motorway. Maybe test drive it on a motorways or dual carriageway? The man without a signature.0

I personally wouldnt have one as a gift.you'd be better off spending the same money on a slightly older fiesta imo...much better build quality.Sorry

I was talked out of buying a Chevrolet Lacetti a couple of years ago by someone in the know, and quite glad that I was now. Apparently they are not really Chevvys at all, but disguised Daewoos, and not very well built. Daewoo went belly-up.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

I'd take my £3K budget and spend it on the best Skoda Fabia 1.4 I could find personally.
Dependable, economical and it does a pretty good job of eating up motorway miles too.0 -
The Matiz is ok for urban driving, but I wouldn't like to go in one on a motorway, very economical to run though.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

Daewoo did not go belly up, they are a massive company, the just merged the car arm of the business with Chevy. Their cars were actually old model vauxhalls which always was part of the GM group who own Chevy so not much change really, just the badge and where they are made.Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0 -
Hmm thank you for the replies. I see that consensus here is to go for a Skoda instead, I have seen an 03 plate Skoda Fabia for about £3,500. I will test drive the Matiz today and see how it goes.0
