FLYBE credit card scam

I was very excited when I found on this website a free flight to Europe with the purchase of a flybe credit card as I am planning on visiting family for xmas in Scotland. I double checked all the details on the website and then rang to sign up yipee!!!! BUT... I checked with the guy processing the card and he checked with his supervisor, who said "its not a free flight but a draw". There are ten flights avaliable and you could be the lucky winner which is totally misleading on the flybe website.
I was not impressed!!!

Well the T&Cs on the site are quite explicit - "Activate your card and spend to be sent your free return flight to Europe voucher. All you have to do is pay taxes and charges."
Might be worth calling again, perhaps they've got it confused with another promotion.0 -
You are kidding!
The only reason why I got this card, have not activated it yet, was to get the flight. I live in Southampton so it is convinient. If this is the case I shan't activate it since it's 24.9% APR for me :OBuy for value not cost.
Feb Grocery = £55.87 / 800 -
I don't think there's any 'scam' given the prominence on the website to this. Just a case of someone who's got confused I'd suspect.0

the 'free' flight is a rip off anyway - they charge you an extra £10 for calling the call centre to even book the flight...:santa2:0

My husband and I both got the Flybe card for the free European flights, activated the cards, got some petrol, paid it off and last night decided to book a flight to Spain.
The call centre said they only had so many flights to give out and although they had seats available on that particular flight were not allowed to give us them, my husband was fuming.
How are we supposed to know when to book a flight??????0 -
OP
I agree with Andy, it might be worth checking again as the website MOST DEFINITELY doesn't say it's a draw.
Under the * though, there ARE lots of conditions to the free flights, including limited numbers & availability and free flights are "capacity controlled during peak periods" (so I'd doubt that you'd EVER get one at Christmas anyway).0 -

Did you ask them when they did have availablity for?
I don't see why your husband had the right to be 'fuming' - standard practice for an airline to retain most seats on a flight for people that are paying.0
