Sky+ Recording Problems

Having problems with sky+ recording, been recording Olympics and twice now having recorded 1/2 hour programme through the night, found that certain recordings are recording up to 51%, don't seem to be stopping. Only got 80gb hard drive, would be annoyed if had been on holiday...When viewing the programme finished after time slot then blank screen .....until recording cancelled manually...
