This sounds a really strange question and i know kids eat all kinds of wierd stuff but out of 5 kids (2 of a blood relative),only 2 of them ever did this and they were obsessed with eating wall plaster by peeling back wallpaper and picking it out the wall(they ate quite a lot). They are years apart and my DS never ever saw his cousin do this. The 2 that did this both are autism / autism related. So i was wondering if you have a child with one of these disorders that did the same.
I know you are thinking , "so what!" but this has always stuck out in my mind and have always thought that there was something in it that their body craved and when you overdose they give you charcoal and i dunno but this in my mind could be an alternative.
So today my oldest DS saw by coincidence a site saying "clay helping autism" as it detoxes metals from their bodies and many have changed because of this and what is wierder is that someone told me about a relative of theirs diagnosed with autism but they later discovered that he had masses of lead in his body that after detoxing , he is a different child.
So now i am wondering as it is like a jigsaw that is fitting together in my mind , many, not mine, are affected after immunisations , some containing mercury so this would go.
I really want to try a bit of a detox now for my son so would welcome anyone elses experiences. It is just after seeing my teenage autistic relative missing out on life and life being so unpleasant and sad for her that i really want to try to help my DS as early as possible. Even if it is not a cure if it helps his behaviour and brings him closer to a normal child of his age i would like to try it.
Another site i saw http://www.clayforautism.com/ . So any experience with this would be greatly appreciated & please don't shout at me, it is just my theory.;)
Before i get told off. I am NOT recommending this, Drs are always your first port of call . I would just like info on it from experiences.

I've not heard of this before, but my 11 Autistic boy will try to eat pretty much anything. He's had phases of wallpaper, plaster, grass is a favorite, leaves, cable ties, hair clips and bobbles!!:beer:0
