Looks like you need to first hold a current or savings account with them...

"If you are a NatWest personal or business customer with a current or savings account you can apply now."

They do phone servicing of couse. I now call them on 01268 508 023 at the w/e to check account details. [Not ideal, but better than calling 0870 or waiting for the statement to arrive]. Lloyds were the same, in that you required a bank account just to view your credit card details online - so I opened one with '£0' in

You'd think that all credit cards offered by RBS would be available under one registered service wouldn't you? I've got separate registrations for Tesco and Mint. [Something for the future, maybe?]

  • That wasnt the news i was hopeing for. I recently opened a natwest credit card account. Was hoping for online banking just assumed they would have it Ah well never mind i will just set up a Direct debit mandate to cover the minimum payments every month. Obviously only for the interest free period after that ill clear it.

    Thanks everyone

Unfortunately, they are still in the old Access era and have yet to progress into the 21st century. I have one of their cards and when the zero percent is up I am planning to ditch them. Personally I like doing everything financial on line.

Nice to know things haven't changed at Natwest. I asked about online credit card checking years ago and they only offered it to current account holders back then. I did say I had an RBS current account, and RBS owned Natwest but that didn't cut any ice. :(

Hmm, where as I have a very high limit, can pay online via my non Natwest current account or via their online banking as I also have an unused natwest current account, call centre very quick to get through to (though prehaps "Platinum" customers get prioritised)..... now if we are taking about HBOS.... :D

If your current account has on-line banking (or phone banking) you should be able to make a BACS transfer (for free) to the credit card.
Nat West should be able to give you the account number and sort code (or it will be on the payment slip) and you need to give the card number as reference.
You should allow 4 working days for this payment to go from one end to the other.

Save going round to the branch in the rain.
