Barclaycard PPI issue
Hi I am in a payment plan with Barclaycard and am paying them £24.99 per month of a £2100 balance and being charged £18.00 per month on a PPI which will obviously take me a thousand years to pay off. I am sure I need to stop this PPI but can I do this while I am on a payment plan and could I claim unfair charges etc?
Any help/advice most welcome
Thanks

Well thats it - I dont have any paperwork - didnt even know what a PPI was till I stumbled on this site - so I dont know what to claim for as I am back in work again after an 8 month layoff which was the reason for getting in debt anyway?0

Don't worry about not having any paperwork at the moment, you can get that later.
Do you have a loan or credit card with the bank?
is the PPI on one of those?
if not what is it on?
Sorry for all the questions but the answers will help me help you.

Now we're getting somewhere.
You said that you didn't know about it untill recently, is that correct?
If so how did you find out about it?

Well....Im a bit daft when it comes to finances etc (thats why I am here) and only really read the complete statement fully for the first time recently - so noticed there was this entry for £18 PPI - Dumb I know0

Not dumb at all
I will admit to doing exactly the same on sevceral accounts 3 in fact and am now reclaiming.
On one I distinctly remember saying No to ppi when I applied for the card but they added it any way and me being me i didn't check my statements properly!
If you would like help reclaiming then just shout.

Have a read of Martin's article here..

and I'll shift you into the Loans board where you'll find the PPI Discussion thread with lots of help.0 -
your payment plan should have no effect on reclaiming the only thing to concider is that anything you receive as a refund would most likely be taken off what you owe them.
Have you received any late charges on the account?
If so?Do you know what your charges add up to?
if so, is it more or less than what you owe them?
Have you cancelled the PPI?
