Buying a repossessed property Advise

Hello,

Just after some advise, on buying a repossessed property, is there anything to watch out for?

ive noticed its halifax who have taken posession of the house im considering buying and also my mortgage in principle is also with the halifax,

would this speed up the process?

    Don't assume anything, check everything out - electrics/plumbing etc...
    Our house had all the radiator valves loosend ready for when we switched the water on!

    I think you'll find it was the guys sent round by the bank that did it.

    They would have turned off the water, gas and elecrtic, drained the heating system including radiators, and left the radiator valves open so they dry out and dont rust.
    Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.

    Nice thought, but these radiators had all the screws loose - not enough to see, just enough for water to gush out! :eek:

    Suppose it's understandable as the last people here were obviously very upset to be leaving.....
