Delay in debiting account after payment on debit card

Hi all,

Jut over 4 weeks ago I placed an order online using my debit card for some foreign currency for around the value of £600

The currency arrived and has since long gone! However the company that I ordered it from still have not taken the £600 from my current account.

Has anyone else experienced such a delay in a company debitting an account and is there a limit to when they can still collect it?

Thanks

It can take up to 6 months or even longer for a debit card purchase transaction to go through. To be on the safe side, never assume that there is a time when they cannot take the £600.

I know this is annoying when it comes to budgeting but do make sure you have sufficient fund in your account or enough overdraft to cover that £600. It could be debited tomorrow, next week or next year but you wouldn't want to pay bank charges for going into unauthorised o/d.

P.S. Maybe you should call the company which you purchased foreign currency from and ask them why they're taking so long to process the transaction?
