Hiya
I hope this is the right place to ask this.
We're planning on getting an LCD TV to mount on the wall above our mantelpiece. Will we need to tilt it slightly forward to be able to see it, or can we mount it flush to the wall bearing in mind its quite a bit higher than the level of the sofa?
Thanks

Most LCD TV wall mounting units are adjustable, to a degree. If you're just wanting to tilt it down a little, which it sounds like you are, then you'll be able to do this no bother.
Be prepared though, these brackets are a lot more expensive than you'd think! If anyone knows where to get some bargains then we'd love to hear from you.
Also make sure you get some decent strong fixings to fix it to your wall.0 -
Try this http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/223445/plexus-low-profile-fixed-tv-wall-mo/ or http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/212704/avf-p7500-fixed-lcd-tv-mount-13-32-/
Most TV's will have a VESA fixing, so check the instructions and order the correct sized mount.0 -
Ours is higher than the setees, but we never had a problem with it being flat on the wall, and it certainly takes up less room this way. Mind you, it is a plasma, so we can watch it quite comfortably from quite acute angles. LCD is probably less tolerant, but you could easily check this by looking in the shop.0

We have a LCD which is flat to the wall (bod standard comet bracket-about £40 last january) it is above sofa height(eye level) by a good foot or two, but we have no problem with viewing it from this angle, we also have no problem viewing it from almost 180 degrees (standing right beside if you know what I mean-having difficulty remembering my angles!) looks fine. With new LCDs they dont seem to have the problem of old ones having to have a perfect viewing angle. Also despite the fact its a bit above eye level we dont have sore necks at all0
