Hello,
I've got a wedding in Vancouver to go to August 2009. I was wondering if anyone could suggest where I could find some cheap tickets or when is the best time to buy the tickets.
Thanks!

I've got family just outside Vancouver and have travelled over a few times with BA and Air Canada. From memory we booked the BA flights in mid/late January when they had a sale on.
Keep an eye on the cheapflights.co.uk website (or subscribe to their newsletter) to keep up to date with the deals that are on offer. You can also sign up to newsletters from Canadian Affair. Check out skyscanner.net - just specify the month you want to travel and you can search flights from a number of UK airports to find the best price. Bear in mind that in terms of summer flights, August is usually the most expensive month to travel.
Both Zoom and Canadian Affair offer cheaper prices. If you don't mind a 'no frills' flight then they'll be the best way to go. My family have used both and found them to be fine. Air Transat also offer flights (maybe through Canadian Affair?) but a family member described her journey as like flying 'cattle class'!!! It all depends on how you cope with a 9+ hour flight.
Vancouver is a beautiful city with so much to do and see. If you have time I'd highly recommend seeing a bit more of the west coast, after all, after you've flown all that distance and spent money on long-haul flights you may as well! San Francisco is only a short flight away (we paid about £100 for 2 one way flights) and the Rocky Mountains (Banff/Lake Louise/Jasper) are stunning and easily accessible (we flew to Calgary, spent 5 days in the mountains and then drove down to Vancouver).
If I can help with any ideas for things to do / places to go feel free to PM me.
Have a good trip.Norn Iron Club Member 330
