Gatwick travel question
Hi.
I'm trying to find the cheapest way to get from Gatwick Airport to Elstree (Herts) when my flight gets in at 1am on a Sunday.
Gatwick express stops running by then, taxis cost between £110-140 and the cheapest one-way car hire I've found (with a drop-off open on a Sunday) is £82.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

2 quick questions (both a bit stupid probably - but you've got to ask!)
1) Is there a friend/relative that could pick you up? Gatwick to Elstree shouldn't take more than an hour or so at that of a Sunday morning (probably).
2) The price you have quoted for a taxi, is that the cost of a Gatwick taxi or a local one from Elstree? Airport taxis are notoriously expensive!FB :heartpuls Wiggly

There is a normal train which runs from Brighton through Gatwick and ends at Kings Cross if this helps - the service is almost very similar to the Gatwick express and serves the people living in the north of London very well!
It leaves from platform three at Gatwick I remember.Lovin Boots and other bargainous places!0 -

This would be good if you were flying in at this time on a weekday but on a Sunday it is obviously more difficult.
i.e. You'll be a bit late to take the 0015 and too early to take the next one at 0415.sorry no links in signatures by site rules - Forum Team 20 -
You can get from Gatwick to Victoria all night by train (every half hour) and then take the N16 bus (also every half hour) to Edgware and a taxi from there. Not sure if there are any night buses that go further out than that. I use https://www.bahn.de for trains (click on international visitors to get it in Engish) and the tfl site for buses http://www.tfl.gov.uk/buses/travelinfo-night-buses.asp. Hope it works out OK.0
