soffits & gutters Quote

Much like the other poster im in the wokingham area and had a quote.

i had a small irish goblin like man pop round from Anglian Windows and ask if i owned the house and was ever thinking about new soffits i said yes one day once i done all my other jobs as my soffits and gutters are fine but are getting on a bit, they asked if i would like a free quote i said sure why not then they said someone would pop round..

so next day guy arrives starts talking to me about windows and show homes and says right i need a yes or no

i said err look i just want a quote and he said i want a yes or no before i do that. i explained im not saying yes to getting new soffits and gutters before i know the price AND after only 1 quote AND its not high on my list of things to get (new bathroom and sofa are next up)

so i said no he then measured up and gave me a quote

i only have a front and rear to do
both are 7.5m
no downpipes

quote was £2560
his "Best price ever he couldnt move on it one bit and dosnt earn any commison from it" was £1450

is 15 m of soffits and gutters worth 1.5k?

We had some recently around my way, fairly new 2 bed places. A few neighbours had theirs done.

2 Bed Semis so 3 sides including downpipes, all in was £1400

The contractors had been doing some Council Properties nearby, one of the neighbours approached them for a quote, all of a sudden loads of houses had their little signs outside.

They seemed a decent bunch, got the work done, no hassle and (from what I have seen), only one revisit to put something right.

I would avoind the scam merchants who try to pressure you into a sale.

We just had the guttering replaced in our house in Wokingham. It was one side only, about 7.5m long too. Cost was 180 pounds for the materials and fitting.

About 5 years ago, a builder told me to expect to pay £20per metre, all in, on average for replacement guttering.

Check Wickes online prices to see just how cheap guttering really is!

that is way far too much, my husband does that sort of work and i know its nowhere near that amount
