London hotel recommendations please

Central would be ideal but I don't want to re-mortgage the house to pay for it!
Anyone been somewhere good they are happy to recommend as trip advisor has some absolute shockers on there!
It aint over til I've done singing....

We have just had four fantastic nights at the Holiday Inn Brent Cross which is approx 7 miles out of central london. For the four nights for a family room it cost us a total of £149 + tax and the room slept 2 adults and 2 children. Its north london and the nearest tube is Brent Cross which is a brisk 5-7min walk or the hotel provide a shuttle service. It took 25 minutes to get into Leicester Square directly from there (northern line). It was probably the cleanest hotel i have ever stayed in and modern too, the staff were really freindly and helpful. There is a special offer on at the moment i think until the 24th of August.
Hope this helps and good luck with your search!!:T :T :T :T

We like the Crowne Plaza which is right next to BlackFriars tube station.
The 2for1 offer at the moment works out at £62 per night not including breakfast.
If you have the full buffet times two then it works out at £106 per night, but it's one of the best breakfasts we've ever had (and there are many cheaper options if you don't want the full feast).

This is the best 4 star we've been to and we've been to three (this one, apex and hoxton).

It all depends on which dates you want?

I've just come back from a weekend in London. We stayed Friday to Sunday night at the Innkeepers Lodge in Chigwell. It cost £119 for the three nights for two of us, which included breakfast. It was very clean and pleasant and took about 20-30 to get into central London on the tube. The offer for the Innkeepers Lodge is buy two nights (Fri / Sat) and get the third night free (Sun).

Crowne plaza is part of the same group as holiday inns, so you get it through the holiday inns offer.
They are doing a B&B, dinner and 2for1 offer at the moment.
We found the 2for1 was best for us, but I would check them all as it probably varies.

Bear in mind that the 2for1 is room only and no VAT.
So you have to add on VAT for the room, plus breakfast, plus service charge for breakfast.
The top breakfast at the city crowne plaza is £19.50 plus service charge (which I think was 12.5% but I'm bnot certain).
