Have just got my Virgin train tickets for 2 of us hoping to travel together from Liverpool to London and the seat numbers are 27A and 23A. Does anyone know if these are together or if not can we change them?

doesn't sound like it. if it's not packed, sit together anyway. perhaps it was busy and these were the only seats available? if not, the operator is an idiot.
Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?

Maybe they are opposite each other if A is the row and they count the seat numbers across?

Have no idea as I am about to make my first train journey in eons tomorrow, but as I am travelling alone, it doesn't matter :D

    sounds feasible.

  • The numbering of seats on Virgin trains isn't logical IMHO, and i have this worry every time i book with the kids as the seat numbers never sound as though they'll be together, but they usually are when we get on the train!

At worst, you are only a few seats away from each other and can probably ask someone to swap so you can sit together, but I expect it will be OK.
  • Do you know if you're on a pendolino train?

    there's a site here:

    http://www.v-flyer.com/pendolino.asp

that shows seating plans, it varies in different carriages so you need to check the right one.

If it is coach C or E, then you are opposite each other at a table.

And yes, only Pendolinos operate between Liverpool and London.

If you ring the Virgin Train customer services they will check for you, and if necessary issue new reservations for you with the seats altogether.

Have rung Virgin CS as suggested and they have confirmed that the seats are opposite each other at a table but we are in coach A if that is any help to anyone else in future.
