there are small number of credit cards that give you money back on your spending i.e. EggMoney card gives 1% of your spending back each year. Others give 'points' or travel miles that can be used to get gifts, airline tickets etc.
These cards tend to go to people with very good credit ratings so if you have never had a CC you will struggle to get one.

Best to apply for a 'beginners' CC, use it regularly and PAY in FULL each month ... set up a direct debit so you never forget. Once you have established yourself as a good payer then your credit rating will improve and you will then have a better chance of getting a cashback/rewards card.

Cards to try... ask you bank first then maybe barclaycard initial, vanquis, cap one... all awful APRs but if you pay in full each month it does matter.
Obviously you are on the electoral roll.

Always remember its not free money... pay back in full each month and never withdraw cash from ATMs.

hi, thanks for the quick reply, i will contact abbey and see what they are offering, and will do as told ie about paying off , and not use to withdraw. thanks for the good advise, I always pay my bills within days anyway, so quite strict with myself in that sense.

I will also contact barclaycard too.

i did a experian check on myself just the other day , states "good credit rating" so i must be doing something right

thanks again, i'll let you know how i get on

    cheers
