Still waiting for the postie, normally doesn't get here till late afternoon - arrghh - fingers crossed he has my tickets as it's pushing it a bit for me now. If I get there, I'll be the one having a nervous breakdown with two kids 3 and under - ha ha!

    Hi All,
Just got back from work - and tickets have arrived.:T

I would be very grateful for any advice from peeps who have been before, about what is the best time to get there.....pre first race at 9, or later for the 'main event' ? and also about things to do/not do. Best place to park/not park etc.
Sorry to appear dumb ( I am ) but first time as a newly single Mum taking 3 teenaged sons out on a predominantly Male orientated day, and of course I want it to go as smoothly as possible, and don't want to end up parking in a ploughed field, missing the best bits of the day........and never hearing the end of "what a disasterous day we had with Mum" for years and years to come !!!:p

p.s - also (of course) any money saving tips about what is worth spending my precious pennies on once we get there ;):D

p.p.s I don't suppose I will be the only Le Mans series virgin there, so presume others would be grateful for any helpful advice. I have just told middle son - who straight away said great, and he is cancelling playing for his football team on Sunday.....so I better get the route sorted out pronto:eek:
  • try and get there as early as possible about 8am.
the reason being u can get stuck in the traffic for up to 1hr on the duel carriageway. normally free parking and remember to take your own food and drink as a bottle of water can cost £2 and a bottle of coke 500ml the same price. food is as well is expensive it was £4 just for a burger. the car parks are on their access road and you are directed to park at the one which is empty. the car parks are covered in gravel so u wont get stuck in the mud like castele donnington.
the toilet facilities are brill better than donnington park which are just so old its unbelievable.
one thing to remember the noise of the cars is extremely loud. if u can take some ear plugs or defenders or u may suffer from a headache from the noise.

:rotfl: given up on tesco do a lot os boots offers. but weekends are now in orange trackside b. lol
now a race marshal at silverstone.
  • p.s. i forgot to say mine have come as well today.
i went to silverstone early in the year for the Renault world series hence my noladge of the course. the best for value for mony drinks and food was the silverstone cafe. not the food venders or icecream vans which was just a rip off merchants. icecream £2 a cornet. the water from one van charged £2.40 for a 330ml bottle.
