Desperate to live with my partner

hi hope someone could help, but me and my partner are wanting to live together. we have been seeing each other for 6 months and are deeply in love. however the problem is that we are both disabled and council accomadation is not a option, i know we we would have no problem obtaining it as we would be fast forwarded to the top of the list, but the simple fact is that we would be victimised and our lives would be made a misery (i am technically homeless at the moment due to being forced out of my previous home due to idiots).

although not ideal, we would like to rent privately, does anyone have any usefull advice on how to obtain private rented accomoadation ? is it even a viable option ?

Thanks in advance

With sufficient income and a good credit record you should be fine.

Why do you think you might have a problem? Do you both work?

I know its sometimed very difficult but you have to understand the people who take the mickey are simpletons, it's there ignorance that's the problem not your disability, good luck with whatever you do

Wouldn't think so, looking at the name.

Lany- one can still recieve DLA and work ;)

Do either of you have any contacts within disability rights service? Or any specific disability support groups.

Depending on your disabilities, it might be fairly straightforward to find a property, ( be it a hearing impairment or a impaired mobility need, but for example if you are both wheelchiar users, the selection of properties is much fewer.

I would definatley recommend speaking to your local disability forum, as they should have an advice worker who can help you in finding somewhere you can both call home :)

I wish you all the very best, I certainly have taken for granted how easy it was for me & OH to live together, and realise how lucky we are.

Aint love grand :D:love: Keep us posted on how you progress :)

If it's any help, some landlords are happy to take tenants who are on benefits (I am!). Others are less happy. Does your accommodation need adaptation for your needs?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Why can't you just move into where your partner's living?

Victimisd due to what? Your disability? You still get unenlightened people living in non council accomodation.

    6 months deeply in love?
    That'll soon pass.

I also don't understand why you can't live with your partner and what you think is stopping you.

If you are both on benefits then find out on entitledto website what you will get.
